This article analyzes the action classification of German verbs, that is, their grouping according to whether they have finite (telic) or non-finite (atelic) meanings of actions and situations. In German linguistics, there are different theories on this topic: some scholars propose to strictly divide verbs into two - finite and non-finite, while others emphasize the existence of neutral verbs, which can have different action characteristics depending on the context. This classification helps to better understand the semantic and syntactic features of verbs.
