According to a number of authors, the problems of treatment and high mortality in the group of burnt elderly are in the first row among the combustiology issues that need to be addressed. The relevance is associated not only with the general aging of the population, but also with the activation of the lifestyle of older people. Elderly and senile people are at risk for thermal injury. Age, burn area, interval between injury and admission to the burn center, comorbidity are the main factors that determine the severity of the injury and affect the prognosis and treatment tactics. At present, the experience accumulated in domestic burn hospitals in the treatment of elderly and senile burn patients has not been studied enough. Comparative efficacy. The literature data on the use of active surgical methods in patients of geriatric groups are scattered and do not give an idea of their comparative efficacy.
