This article analyzes the manifestation of Uzbek-Kazakh ethnocultural relations in the Tashkent oasis through national folk games and traditional competitions using historical-ethnographic and comparative-cultural approaches. Folk games are interpreted not merely as forms of entertainment or physical activity, but as important sociocultural institutions that preserve ethnic memory, transmit collective values, support youth education, enable ritual communication, and promote intercultural rapprochement. The article examines the common Turkic foundations, ethnic and interethnic features of Uzbek and Kazakh folk games, as well as the influence of sedentary, nomadic, and semi-nomadic ways of life on traditional game culture. Through the examples of kokpari, kokpar, qiz quvish, audaryspaq, tenge ilu, altybaqan, asyk atu, baige, and other traditional games and competitions, the study reveals mechanisms of cultural exchange, social trust, neighborly relations, and collective solidarity among Uzbek and Kazakh communities in the Tashkent oasis. Special attention is also given to the sportization of folk games in the twentieth century and to their contemporary reinterpretation within the official sports system and ethnosport development policy.
