This article analyzes the theoretical and methodological foundations of ethno-tourism, the history of its formation, and its place within the contemporary tourism system. The examines reveals the scientific essence of the concept of ethno-tourism, highlighting its origins, stages of development, and significance in both international and national tourism practices. Furthermore, the article demonstrates the role of ethno-tourism in exploring the customs, traditions, lifestyles, national values, and cultural heritage of various peoples, as well as in presenting these elements as valuable tourism resources. The paper also provides a scientific analysis of the similarities and differences between the concepts of ethno-tourism and ethnographic tourism. In addition, it examines the content and significance of decrees and resolutions adopted in recent years in the Republic of Uzbekistan aimed at developing the tourism sector, particularly through the effective utilization of the country's ethno-tourism potential. The study emphasizes that ethno-tourism serves as an important factor in preserving cultural heritage, strengthening national identity, and promoting the socio-economic development of regions. The findings contribute to the improvement of the theoretical foundations of ethno-tourism and to the identification of promising directions for its further development.
