Political culture as an important factor in ensuring the stability of the state and society is a significant branch of general culture associated with politics. From this point of view, this article pays special attention to the study of the essence of the concept of political culture. The content of the article substantiates the relevance and necessity of developing political culture in social progress. The functions of political culture are scientifically studied based on various approaches. Its performance of several tasks simultaneously as a multifaceted phenomenon is highlighted. Political culture is considered as an important tool for educating social activity, and as a result of its assimilation, the social activity of an individual or group increases. The article also reveals the importance of the interrelated development of political consciousness and political culture.
