This article analyzes the ongoing reforms in the professional development system of civil servants and the significance of introducing interactive pedagogical technologies into the training and retraining process. In particular, it highlights the potential of integrating the case method with assessment center technologies to identify key professional competencies, conduct situational modeling, and develop collective decision-making skills among civil servants. Additionally, the article reveals the advantages of the case method – such as role-playing, comparing alternative solutions, and forming situational knowledge – in enhancing the professionalism and professional identity of civil servants. The research findings demonstrate that the case method effectively increases motivation, fosters a practice-oriented learning environment, and enables the efficient use of mature learners’ prior professional experience during retraining.
