In the system of political processes in the globalized world, along with general laws, socio-political traditions of various societies and people’s function. In the course of the colonial policy pursued by the imperialist countries at the time, these factors had a significant impact on social reality. This article reveals the trends in the formation and expansion of Russian statehood, which subsequently led to Russian imperialism. According to the author, the imperialist policy of the Russian state was accompanied by military, political, social and cultural expansionism, which was carried out in relation to the East, in particular to the territories belonging to the Turkic peoples.
