The article discusses theoretical and practical aspects of studying Russian phraseology by foreign students. Traditional approaches to teaching phraseological units in the context of Russian as a Foreign Language (RFL) are analyzed, along with modern innovative methods aimed at developing phraseological competence. Special attention is paid to linguocultural commentary, the use of authentic texts and multimedia technologies. The results of an experimental study confirming the effectiveness of an integrated approach are presented.
