This article discusses the concept of ensuring freedom of conscience of citizens and state policy in the religious sphere adopted in the Republic of Uzbekistan today, and its historical significance. The article shows, based on evidence, that the spirit of religious tolerance and interethnic harmony in Uzbekistan has existed since ancient times.
