This scientific article provides an in-depth analysis of the linguistic environment of social media, the influence of digital communication tools on the language system, and the structural, semantic, and pragmatic features of newly emerging lexical-grammatical units in internet discourse. The study explores, primarily based on contemporary scholarly sources, the hybrid nature of social media language, the linguocultural factors influencing code-switching processes, and the evolution of neologisms. The author analyzes the transformational impact of internet communication on language norms, including the novel usage of abbreviations, emojis, memes, and lexical borrowings. The article also addresses the shift in the meaning and function of linguistic units in the digital environment, the interaction between traditional forms of speech and new internet communication styles, and the normative aspects governing linguistic processes. In conclusion, the research constitutes a valuable contribution to the development of digital linguistics and a highly relevant in the field of modern linguistics.
