The article examines the use of artificial intelligence tools in academic writing and their impact on addressing linguistic challenges. Particular attention is paid to meaning accuracy, preservation of authorial style, work with multilingual sources, and the prevention of hidden plagiarism when using generative systems. The study analyses typical lexical, grammatical, and stylistic errors that arise from relying on AI services and discusses methodological limitations of their use in educational practice. Based on a comparison of machine-generated and human-written texts, the paper formulates recommendations for teachers and students on responsible and informed use of AI for planning, drafting, and editing academic texts. Special emphasis is placed on the author’s linguistic identity and on the need to preserve scientific objectivity, argumentative rigor, and logical coherence. In addition, the article addresses issues of academic integrity and transparency regarding the extent of machine involvement in manuscript preparation and proposes practical criteria for evaluating AI-assisted texts, as well as approaches to fostering students’ critical stance toward digital outputs.
