Objective: To study the age and sex characteristics of the cardiorespiratory system in children involved in swimming. Methods: The study involved 20 children aged 10 to 12 years. To solve the set tasks, all children underwent a complex somatoscopic and anthropometric examination and functional tests (test Martine-Kushlevsky, Shtange, Genche, clino and orthostatic tests). Results: The analysis of the data obtained made it possible to assess the capabilities of the functional state of the cardiorespiratory system of young swimmers. One of the important results of the study was the positive dynamics of the level of the functional state of the cardiorespiratory system of the examined athletes. Conclusions. The use of respiratory tests, taking into account the specifics of the cardiovascular system of young swimmers, expands the reserves of the respiratory system, increases the aerobic-anaerobic and adaptive capabilities of the body.
