This scientific article analyzes the formation characteristics of ecological terms in Uzbek and English languages. During the research, eco-terms were studied as lexical units expressing scientific concepts in the field of environment and ecology, and their lexical-semantic, morphological, and structural features were revealed. It was shown that in English, eco-terms are formed mainly through composition, affixation, abbreviation, and international terms, while in Uzbek, due to its agglutinative structure, terms are primarily formed through affixal formation, word combinations, and borrowings. Additionally, the adaptation of terms borrowed from Latin, Russian, English, and other languages into Uzbek was analyzed. The study highlighted that Uzbek terms are being enriched through national morphological means, while English follows a model based on international scientific style. The formation of new terms related to modern environmental conditions and their gradual incorporation into the lexical system occupies a special place in this work. As a result, the term-creation capabilities of the two languages were compared, and common and distinct aspects were identified. The article is valuable for linguists, translators, and specialists working with ecological texts.
