This article explores the theoretical foundations, scientific research, and practical approaches to the phenomenon of impulsivity in sports psychology. The author analyzes the positive and negative aspects of impulsivity among athletes, emphasizing its impact on decision-making, emotional stability, and self-control. The paper presents scientific interpretations of impulsivity based on psychoanalytic, behaviorist, cognitive, neuropsychological, and personality typology approaches. It also examines the forms of impulsivity manifestation in various sports, its neurobiological mechanisms, and psychological regulation strategies. The findings demonstrate that effective management of impulsivity is a crucial factor in enhancing athletesʼ psychological readiness and competitive performance.
