The paper examines the process of intercultural communication, its specific features, and the difficulties that participants in this process may encounter. The article focuses on the difficulties that arise in the process of communication, which are caused not so much by differences at the language level as by differences at the cultural level, as well as the reasons that cause them. The article discusses barriers to intercultural communication and the reasons for their occurrence, and presents some ways to overcome difficulties that arise in communication between representatives of different cultures. The author gives examples of possible misunderstandings and difficulties in intercultural communication in German and Uzbek.
