The aim of this article is demonstrating the effectiveness of storytelling in developing productive skills in English. Using storytelling in public speaking is a powerful technique to engage audiences and enhance the impact of a speech. Storytelling creates emotional connections, making the message more relatable and memorable. By incorporating personal anecdotes, parables, or fictional narratives, speakers can simplify complex ideas and hold the audience’s attention. A well-crafted story adds authenticity and can evoke empathy, making the speaker appear more credible and trustworthy. Furthermore, stories have a natural flow that helps maintain audience interest and retention, which is crucial for effective communication. This approach not only makes the speech more enjoyable but also enables the speaker to convey their message with greater clarity and emotional resonance, leading to a stronger and more lasting impression. Thus, integrating storytelling into public speaking can significantly enhance its productivity and effectiveness.
