This study examines the role of anthropomorphism in folk tales as a way to promote empathy, cognitive development and environmental awareness in children. By attributing human qualities to natural elements, these narratives create relatable connections that encourage children’s emotional engagement with their surroundings. Through qualitative analysis of selected folk tales, this research depicts how these narratives encourage moral values related to nature, develop critical thinking, create hope and enable children to take care of the environment. Based on Piaget’s constructivist theory, the study examines how folk tales aid in knowledge construction and build a more thorough understanding of cultural norms and values.
