This article explores the relevance of studying the history of Karakalpakstan's musical culture during its period of independence within the context of the musical cultures of the peoples of Central Asia. This relevance is based on the following considerations: the need for the spiritual revival of our people; the growing interest in the modern history of the vocal arts; and a deeper understanding of the essence of the musical world at the intersection of two eras - totalitarianism and democracy
