The article examines the transformation of values in A.P. Chekhov’s late drama from a literary studies perspective. Based on “The Seagull”, “Uncle Vanya”, “Three Sisters” and “The Cherry Orchard”, it analyzes changing ideas about work, love, family, home, time and the future. Particular attention is paid to dramatic conflict, the system of characters, subtext, symbolism and open endings.
