This article analyzes the Petro-Aleksandrovsk prison of the late 19th and early 20th centuries, its conditions, procedures, and the condition of prisoners. The study reveals the organization of prisons in Petro-Aleksandrovsk, the activities of prison managers and staff, and the role of prisons in the colonial policy of the Russian Empire.
