This article examines the use of the Arabic language in the mass media. The relationship between Classical Arabic (fuṣḥā) and the vernacular (āmmiyya) is entering a new stage under globalization: social networks and online platforms are increasingly complicating the boundary between these two linguistic strata. Drawing on diglossia theory, media analysis, and empirical examples, the study investigates these changes. The findings indicate that contemporary Arab mass media draw equally on a new, hybrid form combining fuṣḥā and āmmiyya.
