Annotatsiya

This article examines linguistic and cultural adaptation issues in Windows operating system terminology across Uzbek, Russian, and English. The study aims to compare rendering strategies used for UI labels and system components—full equivalents, calques, transliteration, and descriptive translation—and to formulate standardization guidelines. Data include Windows 10/11 interface sections, help pages, and official term lists. The methodology combines a linguo-cultural perspective with functional-equivalence criteria and orthographic–morphological integration checks (capitalization, hyphenation, affixation).
