This article examines wishes and praises as speech acts in a cultural context. The linguistic structures, pragmatic functions, and cultural features of these expressions were identified. The analysis was based on J. Searle’s classification, focusing on commissive and expressive acts. The illocutionary and perlocutionary forces were assessed. Differences in usage between Uzbek and English were described. Good wishes and praises were analyzed as tools of solidarity and politeness. Representative examples were comparatively studied. The research confirmed the interrelation between language and culture, emphasizing how speech acts reflect cultural values.
