This article presents the findings from classes and tests aimed at teaching Russian to non-Russian speaking children through literary texts, primarily focusing on developing reading comprehension and listening skills. The results are based on a two-month experiment with a test group of 2nd-grade (8-year-old) students who receive their education in the Uzbek language. The experiment examines how this test group reads and understands "Comics based on fairy tales for young children," explores the advantages of using literary texts in language learning, and demonstrates how such texts can more effectively facilitate the natural acquisition of second language skills. Additionally, the article tracks the improvement in reading technique dynamics as the respondents work through the 2nd-grade Russian language textbook to increase their reading speed. Initial test results suggest that for high-quality acquisition of language skills such as reading comprehension, writing, and listening comprehension, the expected outcomes are achieved only when the child possesses good reading techniques in both their native language and the language being studied.
