Aphorism is a short but deep-meaning expression that reflects life experiences, is widely known, and often expresses wisdom. Aphorisms have their own stylistic features, and the study of their pragmatic features plays an important role in linguistics. Aphorisms are often expressions that are widespread in a particular society or nation, reflecting social and cultural values. There are some similarities between aphorisms in English and Uzbek, but there are also certain differences. This article analyzes the pragmatic characteristics of aphorisms in English and Uzbek.
