In today's globalized world, almost half of the world's population uses two languages to communicate every day. The word "bilingual" is often used on social networks, various news and articles, denoting people who speak two languages. But what does this term actually mean? In our article we will look at the meaning of the term “bilingual” and the phenomenon of bilingualism. We will try to answer questions about who a bilingual is, what bilingualism is, what it takes to become a bilingual, and also look at the positive and negative aspects of bilingualism.
