In this article, politeness is considered as an ethnocultural communicative category. A speech act aimed at achieving specific communicative goals is used as a strategic tool for solving general communicative problems. The success and effectiveness of intercultural cooperation depend not only on knowledge of the language, but also on an understanding of the culture, traditions, values and customs of the people. This article emphasizes that a deep understanding of the worldviews of speakers of other languages is also a key factor in successful intercultural communication.
