Annotatsiya

The spatial distribution of slope angle is an important geotechnical indicator for assessing open-pit wall stability. This study proposes a method for deriving slope fields from a global digital elevation model and high-density airborne laser scanning data and identifying priority zones. A streaming algorithm processed hundreds of millions of points without loading the complete cloud into memory. At McKinley, 182,093,542 LiDAR returns were processed in 19.3 s with 98.4% coverage. In Angren, the mean slope was 13.6°, the maximum was 57.8°, and 62.7% of the area exceeded 7°. Global DEMs are suitable for screening, whereas LiDAR supports detailed analysis.
