This article explores theoretical and practical aspects of criteria for assessing students' skills in utilizing artificial intelligence. It demonstrates how these assessment criteria can determine students' capacity for independent, effective, and ethically appropriate use of AI technologies. Additionally, the article discusses reflective practices, metacognitive approaches, peer evaluation, and analytical assessment systems employing AI tools. Based on the findings, the article proposes developing innovative approaches to evaluate AI competencies in modern education.
