. This article analyzes the scientific activities of archaeologists in the study ofthe cultural heritage of the city of Bukhara and its surroundings in the early medieval period usingthe examples of the monuments of Varakhsha, Poykend and Vardonze. The study highlights thearchaeological excavations, finds and their historical and cultural significance at thesemonuments. It also states that through the scientific research of archaeologists, importantinformation has been revealed about the political, economic and cultural life of the Bukhara oasisin the early Middle Ages. The murals of the Varakhsha palace, the role of Poykend as a tradingcenter and the importance of Vardonze as a center of crafts and pottery are analyzed based onhistorical sources and archaeological evidence. The article scientifically substantiates the role ofthese monuments in the study of the history of Uzbek statehood, urbanization processes andmaterial culture.
