This article examines the issues of developing oral speech competence in teaching English to students specializing in agriculture. In particular, methodological approaches aimed at developing students' speech skills based on agro-terms are analyzed. The study highlights the issues of developing students' ability to communicate on topics related to their specialization through the use of modern pedagogical technologies and communicative methods. It also proposes methods for expanding students' vocabulary, increasing their ability to apply it in real situations, and preparing them for international professional communication by teaching a dictionary of agro-terms. This work is aimed at increasing the practical value of language teaching in the educational process and improving the quality of training specialists in the field of agriculture.
