This article analyzes the role and importance of self-governing bodies in implementing public oversight. Using the mahalla institution as an example, the study examines the role of local government bodies in expressing the needs of the population and ensuring transparency in the activities of state organs. The article develops recommendations for introducing technological innovations and improving the legal literacy of the population to enhance the effectiveness of public oversight. Proposals are presented based on comparative analysis with international experiences.
