The article analyzes statistical data on fires in the country and abroad, and emphasizes the importance of conducting forensic fire-technical expertise for an objective investigation and establishment of the causes of fires. It also lists the main normative legal acts governing this area of activity and suggests possible ways of developing and improving expertise in the Republic of Uzbekistan.
