This article examines the main stages of cooperation between Uzbekistan and Japan, mutually beneficial agreements between these states on the way to increasing the number of tourists on both sides, improving tourism infrastructure, and preserving historical and cultural heritage. In addition, the investment potential of Uzbekistan for implementing new projects in the tourism sector was studied, and the statistics of the stay of Japanese tourists in Uzbekistan after the country gained independence were analyzed.
