The article describes scientific approaches to the classification of child victimization and the reasons for its occurrence, and also analyzes the opinions of scientists related to the concept of “child”. The author of the article expressed the opinion that children, more than adolescents, are exposed to domestic violence, which negatively affects their mental and emotional development. In particular, he argues that children exposed to such violence may experience problems in school, difficulties communicating with peers, depression and other mental health problems. In addition, children living in domestic violence situations face multiple risks, including exposure to traumatic events, neglect, direct violence, and the risk of losing one or both parents, which has negative consequences for their development. The author of the article also emphasizes the clear impact of these factors on children and identifies three categories of children's problems associated with domestic violence.
