The article provides a scientific analysis of the concept of principles of criminal law, in particular, the role, scale, moral, historical, and legal aspects of the principle of justice in the life of the state and society, examines the elements, categories, essence of the principle of justice in international legal acts, opinions and views of leading domestic and foreign scientists. The author gives suggestions and recommendations based on the analysis of the concepts of principle, principle of law, criminal law principle, as well as categories of justice in a general and legal sense.
