The article provides a scientific analysis of the problems of motivation of criminal behavior, examines the factors determining criminal behavior, terms denoting the motive of crime, classification, the concept of motives, opinions and views of leading domestic and foreign scientists. The emergence and development of motives for criminal behavior is justified by the need to analyze the internal mechanisms of behavior even within the framework of the formation of the criminal's personality.
