The article analyzes the history of Islamic architecture in Tashkent on the basis of historical and primary sources. It is also revealed that Tashkent, being the capital of the Republic of Uzbekistan, has a rich historical past, and until the 10th–11th centuries AD had different names: Shi, Chach, Chachkent, Shash, Shashkent, Binkent.
