This article provides information about the illegal activities of the investigative team of the USSR Central Prosecutor during the repression of the "Cotton affair" in the Navoi region, and its negative impact on the socio-economic life of the society, causing serious tragic consequences. Illegal activities of the investigative team of the USSR Central Prosecutor in the Navoi region were scientifically analyzed on the basis of archival materials, memories of repression victims and other sources.
