This article highlights the specific features of teaching special subjects in professional educational institutions, as well as the role and importance of teaching special subjects in the professional training of future specialists. The function of special subjects in the process of professional training and the uniqueness of the teaching methodology of special subjects were discussed. The article concludes that special subjects are considered the basis of professional training and require a systematic and integrative approach and appropriate teaching and learning methodology.
