This article clarifies the role of the republics in a single national economy and ensures the specialization of all regions in the interests of the country using the Soviet method of economic zoning. The economic policy of the Soviet state and its connection with the national economy of the republic are analyzed, which contributes to the improvement of methodological approaches and theoretical conclusions regarding the consequences of this policy.
