An urgent issue is the comprehensive development of activities to transform the economy and increase the competitiveness of enterprises. In this process, from an economic point of view, the role and importance of innovations, which constitute the main system of economy of the country, as well as for the further development of the country were discussed. The main attention is also paid to the formation of an appropriate institutional environment - one of the most important conditions for the effective development of the leading branches of digital economic activity, reforms are identified, the main implementation of which is necessary for the development of the digital economy.
