Modern grain drying complexes are designed to ensure the quality drying of food, seed, and forage grains, aiming to preserve and improve their characteristics. Since each type of grain has permissible damage limits, different drying modes are applied, varying in mechanical impact intensity and moisture removal rate. The grain drying unit serves as the primary equipment for removing moisture from grain masses. In modern grain dryers, the main method of heat transfer is the convective method. Other methods, if used, are mainly experimental prototypes. Convective dryers are classified based on the method of heating the drying agent: direct and indirect heating devices. In the case of direct heating, air is mixed with combustion products in the furnace and directed to the drying chambers. This method is the most economically efficient but is not recommended for food grain drying. For such cases, indirect heating is used, where heat is transferred through an intermediate heat exchanger, typically in the form of a special radiator.
