When operating railways, much attention is paid to the diagnostics of catenary systems as a non-redundant part of the power supply system. Periodic monitoring of the misalignment of reinforced concrete catenary poles will increase the reliability of the functioning of the elements of the contact lines, will spoil accidents on the railway and thereby increase the profitability of transportation of electrified railways. The authors have developed a mobile device for determining the angle of inclination of the catenary poles. This article calculates the economic efficiency of the introduction of a mobile device, the integral effect and the payback period.
