The list of crypto-currencies available today is very extensive, and in order to strengthen legally them, it is necessary to classify the whole set of crypto-currencies. The author believes that most of the problems related to public regulation of cryptocurrencies are revealed in the scope and nature of government regulation, issues of taxation of transactions, criminal and administrative liability for illegal activities, etc. On the basis of national and foreign experience, he put forward proposals for the development of mechanisms of international legal regulation of cryptocurrency and the determination of its jurisdiction.
