Reasons for the establishment of the carpet industry during the soviet period

Annotatsiya

This article scientifically highlights the reasons, economic, political, and social factors behind the organization of the carpet industry in the Turkestan region starting from the second half of the 19th century and during the Soviet period. Furthermore, based on the analysis of archival documents and scientific literature, the process of the crisis of traditional craftsmanship as a result of the centralized economic policy of the Russian Empire and the Soviet regime, the organization of cooperatives and artels, as well as their transformation into state factories, is revealed.
