This article examines the historical stages in the formation of the phenomenon of ecological consciousness and its contemporarysocio-philosophical conceptions. It explores the evolution of human–nature relations, from ancient holistic perceptions to ananthropocentric worldview and subsequently to biocentric, ecocentric, and eco-social approaches. Ecological consciousness isinterpreted not merely as a body of knowledge about the environment, but as a complex socio-spiritual phenomenon that integrateshuman values concerning nature, moral responsibility, emotional attitudes, and practical behavior.
