This article develops a mathematical model for data transmission in branched optical access networks of the PON type. The model accounts for the network structure, optical signal propagation processes, power losses in passive splitters, attenuation in fiber-optic communication lines, and the impact of noise on transmission quality and network throughput. Analytical expressions are derived to calculate the received signal power, signal-to-noise ratio (SNR), bit error rate (BER), and total network throughput. The proposed model can be used to select network parameters, determine the permissible splitting ratio, and improve the efficiency of fiber-optic communication line utilization.
