В данной статье рассматриваются этапы становления и развития экокритики, а также её теоретико-методологические основы в современном литературоведении. На основе экокритического подхода проводится сравнительный анализ произведений Брайса Эндрюса Down from the Mountain: The Life and Death of a Grizzly Bear и Нормурода Норкобилова Ovul oralagan bo‘ri. Результаты исследования показывают, что в обоих произведениях взаимоотношения человека и дикой природы раскрываются через идеи экологического сознания, сохранения биоразнообразия и ответственности человека перед природой. Полученные результаты расширяют возможности сравнительного изучения современной американской и узбекской литературы с позиций экокритики.
