This study investigates the principal means of verbalizing the concept “time” in English and Karakalpak from a comparative linguistic perspective. The analysis focuses on lexical nominations, grammatical forms, phraseological units, metaphorical models, proverbs, and culturally conditioned temporal expressions. The findings demonstrate that both languages share several universal conceptual patterns. At the same time, English tends to represent time more systematically through resource-oriented and measurable models, whereas Karakalpak frequently connects temporal experience with natural cycles, human life, social experience, traditional ways of living, and culturally significant periods of the day and year. These differences reveal the interaction between universal cognitive mechanisms and language-specific cultural interpretation.
